Pilot-Controller Forum

After an introduction, and short presentation on Runway Safety, pilots will interact with controllers and FAA representatives.

Brief Description:
Communications are so important in aviation. Come learn how both sides of the radio can improve by getting answers from Tucson Tower, Tucson Approach Control, Flight Service and the Scottsdale FSDO. The seminar will begin with a presentation on Runway Safety, signs, and markings, by Samir Kanuga, FAASTeam Lead Representative. ATC Controllers will also be able to get their questions answered by pilots in attendance!

Our thanks to the Pima Community College for the use of this meeting space. And to the Tucson Tower, Tucson Approach Control, Flight Service, and the Scottsdale FSDO for providing experts to answer questions from pilots. The seminar will begin with a short presentation on Runway Safety by FAASTeam Lead Representative Samir Kanuga. Pilots will write their questions on a card. The moderator from the Scottsdale FSDO will read the questions, and the appropriate panel member will give an answer. Panel members from the Tucson Tower, TRACON, Flight Service, and the FSDO will give advice to the many questions, such as: "why do we........?" This will be a great time for pilots and controllers to interact and learn from each other.
